Review: Zark’s Burgers

I recently had the opportunity to try Zark’s Burgers, since it was just beside Mani|Pedi Nail Spa at BF Homes, Parañaque City. Honestly, it’s my first time there and knowing that this place is usually jampacked, I was quite surprised that only 2 people were there when I visited. It’s a rare moment to have Zark’s Burgers all to myself. Haha!

The place is so neat. I’m really thankful for the chance to have some peace and quiet here. 🙂 So if you want the place to yourself, visit them on Sundays, around 3 to 4pm.

Their chairs are so cute right? But I doubt the sturdiness of those bin chairs. I saw a kid fall out of one. Yikes. So better get seated on the long chairs for your safety.

While you’re there, don’t forget to check out their bulletin board which features the winners of their challenges. 🙂

Anyway, every table is set with bottles of ketchup and mustard as well as salt and pepper. A fork and knife were also laid out on the table for the burgers.

The usual condiments and utensils

Zark’s Burgers has an impressive menu of zesty, succulent dishes. Their menu consists of rice meals, hotdogs and sandwiches, desserts, and of course, their famous burgers.

Zark’s Burgers Menu

Zark’s Burgers Menu

They have a wide array of burgers to choose from. In fact, I had a hard time choosing which one to try. I ended up ordering Zark’s Ultimate Burger and a Jawbreaker for pasalubong.

Zark’s Ultimate Burger is a quarter pounder burger with cheese sauce in a bed of fresh veggies and then topped with sauteed mushroom and bacon. Bacon! Bacon! Bacon! Yum! This burger costs only P130. Quite affordable right?

Zark’s Ultimate Burger

Unfortunately, I was only able to finish a third of the burger because I felt full already. I love how it tasted though. Grilled burgers are definitely the best!

What makes Zark’s Burgers stand out is their generous servings. Their burgers are so ginormous (that’s gigantic and enormous combined)! Plus, another thing that makes them so interesting and worth the try is their challenges: Jawbreaker and Tombstone. Check out their Facebook for more info on these.

I know I mentioned that I ordered a Jawbreaker… but my sibs were so excited to try it so I wasn’t able to take pictures of it.

Don’t fret though. I will definitely be going back to Zark’s Burgers someday with my boyfriend. I’m sure he’ll love all the bacon in this one.

Sooo… Have you ever tried Zark’s Burgers? 🙂

Comfy chairs

The Nature Wall

If you will look closely, the pots have nail art samples on sticks “planted” in them. 🙂 Also check out this unique clay pot that serves as a basin for washing hands.

Unique Basin

Basin for foot soak

They do not use the electric bubble foot spa machine for foot soaks because it emits infrared which is not safe for use by pregnant women. I told you, this place is safe for everyone!

I really love the overall interior design of Mani|Pedi particularly because it deviates from the usual pastel pink, blue, and purple hues of other nail spas. Guys will definitely not feel awkward when entering this abode. Plus, green is really a relaxing color. This place is like a kind of sanctuary that separates you from the hustle and bustle of life in the city.

As I have mentioned earlier, their specialty is their signature organic spa treatments wherein they use products by Cuccio Naturalé, the first natural nail, hand and foot care treatment product line. Each organic spa treatment includes body butter, sea salts, aromatherapy elixir, Aqua Leaves, deep dermal transforming wrap, pedicure fizz tablets, and manicure soak balls.

Let’s start with Papaya and Guava which offers regenerating and healing benefits.

Papaya and Guava Organic Spa

Then there is Pomegranate & Fig which offers anti-aging and revitalizing benefits.

Pomegranate and Fig Organic Spa

And last, there is Tuscan Citrus & Herb which is good for energizing and balancing.

Tuscan Citrus & Herb Organic Spa

Among all the products used, this is my personal favorite. Say hello to the deep dermal transforming wrap infused with comfrey root extract which promotes skin cell regeneration. This is the only intensive, hydrating, body-heat-activated, creme wrap that transforms into a transparent ultra-smooth viscosity as it penetrates deep into the dermal layer effective regenerating skin cells right before your eyes.

Deep Dermal Transforming Wrap

Ms. Tricia, the owner, chose for me to try their Papaya & Guava organic spa manicure and pedicure.

Set for the hands

Set for the feet

Heating Mittens and Boots for use with the Deep Dermal Transforming Wrap

Now, let me describe the process.

First, they began by spraying the work station and towels with the tantalizing Elixir in Papaya and Guava Nectar. The Elixir gives the service a perfect start with their intoxicating scents.

After removing my polish, they then proceeded to preparing the hand and foot soaks. To the hand soak, they added the manicure soak ball. To the foot soak, they added the pedicure fizz. My hands and feet were soaked in the warm effervescent water for a few minutes.

After the soak, they gently massaged Cuccio Sea Salts onto my hands, forearm, legs, and feet. These sea salts are rich in minerals. After a while, they rinsed it off with the warm water.

Next, they applied the Deep Dermal Transforming Wrap infused with Comfrey Root Extract to promote skin cell regeneration. This anti-aging wrap is a cocktail of ingredients containing anti-oxidants which reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and is the ultimate hydrating wrap. They applied it using the application brush. Then they wrapped my arms and legs in a plastic wrap, and then with the electric mittens and booties. After about 10 minutes, they removed the mittens booties and the plastic wrap and they wiped off the transforming wrap with a moist warm towel.

First time to try heating mittens and booties!

Then, they gave my hands and feet a massage with the Papaya & Guava Body Butter. After that, they proceeded with the usual manicure and pedicure.

Mani|Pedi Color Wheel

I chose Shade #26 by Misa. I love how beautiful it turned out! Perfectly matches my work uniform. Hehe!

Below you can see how attentive the nail technicians are to what they are doing. 🙂

Here’s how it turned out. 🙂

It’s sooo beautiful. Right? 🙂 I totally love the color! Plus their rates are sooo affordable! 🙂 Their Organic Spa Mani Pedi costs only P680! This is definitely value for money considering they use purely organic treatments, plus their attention to details, plus plus the great relaxing ambiance. Sulit na sulit! I will definitely be going back there to try out their other treatments and services. 🙂

I encourage all the ladies within Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Alabang to visit this unique nail spa and try at least one of their signature treatments. And if you want to avail of their services in the comforts of your own home, they do home service as well as spa parties.

Day 7 at Singapore

Happy 29th Monthsary to Rhalph and I! 🙂 Was supposed to celebrate it today at Universal Studios Singapore but I was still woozy from being drenched in water the whole day yesterday. I still have this feeling of being in the wave pool. Too much time spent there. Haha.

Anyway, here are some random pics for the day.

Happy Valentine’s Day to our dogs! 🙂

Saw this cute dog toy at Daiso and couldn’t resist buying it since it’s only S$2. It’s a pink bone and heart that squeaks when you press it. Planning to give this to Tikiwiki and her puppy when I get back. 🙂 It’s my pasalubong for them.

Bought a lot of stuff from Daiso from my previous trips. And I am just so sad because of the 3-4 branches that we visited here in Singapore, the Charcoal Face Mask is out of stock. 😦 I was planning to buy 10 bottles since it would save me around 22 pesos per bottle if I buy them here. Huhu! Oh well. Will try to find them in the Philippines when I get back.

Okay, then this one is a picture of their generic ibuprofen. I always take 400 mg of ibuprofen for my migraine… and last night, I had this severe migraine. It hurt so bad I had to hide under the blanket since I was too sensitive to light and noise. Gladly, there’s a nearby pharmacy where Rhalph was able to buy 1 box of ibuprofen.

Nurofen(R) 200 mg caplets

Nurofen(R) 200mg caplets

It’s S$3.20 for a box of 12. So converted to pesos, it’s like almost 9 pesos per caplet. Medicines are quite expensive here compared to the Philippines. But I am just so happy it worked well and I was able to sleep soundly for 12 hours. Haha! 🙂

We’ll be watching Safe Haven at City Square Mall later. Will update this post too. 🙂 Ta ta for now!

Etude House: I Need You, Honey! Wash-off Pack

I have had this Etude House Honey Wash-off Pack since December 2012 and today, I got curious enough to try it. 🙂

Etude House Honey Wash-off Pack is a facial massage pack formulated with medical herbs and honey to soften, nourish, and replenish the skin. It comes in a pack of 4 containing extracts of red ginseng, ginseng, angelica, and cactus.

Etude House I Need You, Honey! Wash-off Pack

Etude House I Need You, Honey! Wash-off Pack

Red ginseng is used to increase skin elasticity. Ginseng is used to rejuvenate skin. Angelica extracts help tighten pores and cactus extracts remove skin dirt.

Honey has moisturizing benefits. In fact, it has long been used as a facial moisturizer. It’s just that I find it too sticky to use as a DIY facial mask. Good thing I got this for free. 🙂

Packaging: 12 g per pack (Net Weight of 48 g)

I think the packaging is too cute! It looks like butter! 🙂 Since it comes in smaller packs, it is more hygienic and convenient. All you have to do is open a pack and store the leftover in the refrigerator. 1 pack can last for 3-4 uses.

Price:

If you’re interested in purchasing this, you can get this at Etude House for P198.00.

How to Use:

After facial cleaning and prior to toner application, massage pack onto facial surface. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Before Applying the Pack

With the Mask On. Sorry for the super close up shot. Haha!

After using the pack. My face feels so refreshed and I think it looks brighter. 🙂

The Product:

The sample I have contains red ginseng. The wash-off pack has a smooth, viscous, and sticky texture. It does not have a very strong smell. It is easy to apply. I am amazed how easily it glided on my skin… and I’m happy to say that I probably used just one-fourth of the pack. I can use what’s left the following days. 🙂 After leaving it on for 10 minutes, just wash it off with warm water. It’s a bit sticky so it takes a while to remove everything.

By the way, make sure you use a head band to prevent the product from sticking to your hair when you apply it.

What I love:

After applying the product, my skin immediately felt soft and moisturized. Honey does wonders to the skin. It is easy to use. It smells good and my skin feels so refreshed. I also love their cute packaging and it is so affordable!

Since the product costs P198 for a pack of 4, and you can use 1 pack for up to 4 times, it’s like you just spent around P12 for a moisturized skin. 🙂 So cool, right?

What I don’t love:

After washing it off, somehow the moisturizing effect was rinsed off as well. The effect is short-acting compared to the other moisturizers that I use.

Will I repurchase?

Maybe. I just love Etude House products! Even though this product is not as remarkable as the others I have tried, I will still keep on purchasing their products. 🙂

Do you have any suggestions on which products I should review next? Just let me know, okay? 🙂

xoxo,
